Building Partnerships Ltd

St Botolph’s Colchester

A central site of circa 2.8 acres (1.2ha), formerly Colchester bus station and bus depot.

Building Partnerships won a formal competition with Colchester Borough Council and were selected to develop out a mixed use town centre scheme.

Design brief was to provide circa 12,100 sq m (140,000 sq ft) of mixed use development including a 90-100 bed hotel, 330+ student residences and a number of units at ground floor level. A new and attractive public realm will provide linkages to the iconic Firstsite art gallery, the creative business centre and adjacent town centre retail areas.

Building Partnerships worked with Alumno Developments for the development, alongside their full design team to progress a planning application that was granted planning permission in 2020.

The development is intended to create an extension to the creative St Botolph’s quarter in Colchester Town Centre.
